People believe that dry cleaning your carpets is like dry cleaning your clothing. All carpet cleaning methods use water, and these are the three methods of dry cleaning carpet:
Methods of Dry Cleaning
1. Dry Foam.
Application of water-based dry foam to the carpet, allowed to dry and then vacuumed. It is like applying shampoo to your hair, allowing it to dry and then removing it with a head with a vacuum? This method leaves a vast amount of residue in your carpet, with the residue of the foam as well. Not effective at all.
2. Dry-Chem.
The dry-chem method is like dry foam. It starts with the application of a water-based solution the carpet. Then a bonnet with under a rotary floor machine and goes over the carpet surface to absorb the soil. The bonnet becomes wet with soil. Then its time to another bonnet. This process is like trying to use a large towel to rub the dirt out of your carpet. This method leaves a residue behind and only removes soil from the top part of the carpet. Like dry foam not effective at all.
3. Dry Compound.
It is the application of a dry mixture that looks like wet sawdust on your carpeting. The machine brushes the moisture into the carpet, which in theory causes dirt to absorb into the mixture. When the mixture has dried, a vacuum cleaner sucks the material out of the carpeting. In a cut pile carpet, it is impossible to vacuum it all out. As all other dry cleaning methods, the dry compound method is not effective at all.

Simple, the dry cleaning equipment is less expensive than hot water extraction equipment. That is right. About 90% less expensive. NINETY PERCENT. And operating a dry cleaning machine is very simple. Perfect for franchisors to sell their "solution" to franchisees, unfortunately, untrained people. You will pay maybe even more as for a service done by trained professionals. And your carpet is now with most of the residue accumulated deep into the fibres. And with the addition of the chemical residue from "dry cleaning methods". It's a fact.
HOT WATER EXTRACTION
The second carpet cleaning method is the hot water extraction Method. Sometimes called steam cleaning. It is the spraying of hot water into the carpet at high pressure and then sucking it out of the carpet with a powerful vacuum system. This method is also referred to as steam carpet cleaning, even though steam is involved. Or wet carpet cleaning.
Shaw Industries, one of the world’s largest carpet manufacturer, recommends hot water extraction. Mohawk Industries, another colossal carpet manufacturer, also recommends hot water extraction. In regards to hot water extraction, these are two primary types of hot water extraction equipment.
Systems for hot water extraction method
1. Hot water extraction with portable equipment
(small machines that plug into your household current).
2. Hot water extraction with truck-mounted equipment
(larger and much more powerful systems).
Truck-mounted equipment cleans better because it heats the water to a higher temperature. Rinsing the water out of the carpet at higher pressure which breaks up the dirt, bacteria and pollen. High-powered extraction to draw the soiled solution out of the carpet. This process is the method that world’s carpet manufacturers recommends.

Vehicle-mounted hot water extraction system is the best choice. It’s the most powerful cleaning machine on the market. The only device that properly cleans your carpet. This carpet cleaning method also removes all dirt, harmful bacteria, fungus, chemicals, pollen etc.
Methods that use cold and even warm water remove some soil but are not as effective as the hot-water truck mount method.
It's a common misconception that that hot water damages your carpet, but this isn’t true. Washing and then rinsing your carpet with hot water, we clean your carpet thoroughly. It is like a person who showers and then rinses off the dirt and soap. A person will be much cleaner than the person who soaps up and then wipes off with a towel without rinsing off.
